Far from the crowded beaches,
tourist bars and shopping centres of the more developed Thai resorts on Koh Lanta Island,
our Bamboo Bay Resort lies nestled in a hillside setting overlooking
Ko Lanta's Aow Mai Pai (Bamboo Bay), a wide expanse of white sand
lapped by the crystal waters of the Andaman Sea. As part of Ko Lanta
National Marine Park, it has remained protected and today boasts
some of Ko Lanta Island's finest living coral reef.
21 bungalows and the restaurant are sited randomly
where nature provided opportunities and are joined by a network
of pathways and steps through the plants and trees we have worked
hard to preserve.

We are tucked into a hillside at the northern end of Aow Mai Pai on Koh Lanta Island. Each bungalow faces the beach with its own private patio with bench and table overlooking Bamboo Bay. The feeling is one of being alone in a jungle forest overlooking a spectacular sea-side setting. Each bungalow is a little different to conform to the hillside with the least environmental disturbance. They offer a good standard of accommodation and vary in size to sleep between 2 to 6 people in comfort.

Seaview bungalows are fitted with double or twin beds and can take one extra bed, while family bungalows at Bamboo Bay Resort have two rooms, one with double bed the other with twin beds and one bathroom. They can take one extra bed in each bedroom. Each bungalow is fitted with fans to augment the fresh sea breezes. Reading light, shelf cupboard and hanging rail offer additional convenience. The western style en-suite bathrooms come with hot water shower.

The restaurant is sited over the sea with a large balcony facing directly west to take advantage of the spectacular Ko Lanta sunsets. As a Danish-Thai joint venture we are proud of our menu and standard of excellence. Both, Thai and western style dishes are prepared and offered with pride. We emphasize the wide variety of fresh seafood caught daily by traditional long-tail fishing boats - fish, prawns, squid, crabs, oysters and more.
Need to recharge your batteries? This is a special corner of magical Thailand just for you. Laze or walk our long white sand Mai Pai Beach with its spectacular verdant green backdrop and amazing sunsets. Swim our 30°C crystal clear water of the Andaman Sea or snorkel Ko Lanta Island's finest living coral reef just off our beach. Or just enjoy the sound of the sea.

Explore the many wonders of the island and the adjacent National Marine Park. Walk to the nearby jungle waterfall and cool down in a shower of clean jungle water splashing down from 10 meters overhead. Or rent an elephant to take you there. Hike to nearby caves. See rubber tree plantations. Visit the old fishing village or the Sea Gypsies' village.
For a change of scene take a day trip in local fishing boats to some of the most spectacular tropical islands in Thailand including the fabled Ko Rok, and the famous Emerald Cave.
Your hosts Amnuay
Kokyai and Jon Finsen bid you welcome and a peaceful and relaxing
stay.
