Thaiboxen auf der Insel Koh Lanta

Thai Boxen or Muay Thai is a martial art thousands of years old. Different from Western-style boxing it includes kicks and punches performed with elbows, knees and feet.

There are a lot of different techniques used, not all intended to hurt the opponent immediately, some are only used to keep him away or put him off balance before striking out with the next attack.

At least once a week, there are competitions on Lanta Island, either at Khlongdao Stadium or at Phra-Ae Stadium. These are real fights, sometimes with fighters coming from other provinces and they are a "must go" for the local male population.

Fight Night starts always at 21:00 and the entrance fee is 600 Baht.
